Christmas in September

As you know, Operation Christmas Child is very near and dear to Higher Ground Church.  So, starting in July we will begin collecting items for shoe boxes.  Listed below are items for the months of July, August, September, October, November.  Please prayerfully consider participating in this mission!

For the entire month of September we are asking that you donate:  small toys, games, cards, soccer balls with pump

July – flashlights (with extra batteries), t-shirts, shoes, sunglasses, jewelry, small stuffed animals
August – pens, pencils, sharpeners, notebooks, colored pencils

On Saturday, November 12th, we will have a Family Fun day of packing these boxes.  The goal is to pack 75 boxes!  This is going to be a great opportunity to have families come together and share in packing these boxes.

Our goal is to collect enough items to fill 75 boxes.  Last year we fell short of that, but we did about 45 boxes.

All items are to be brought to the church office or can be left in the foyer where a box will be available to put items.

Packing day will be a big day where everyone can come together as a family or individual and pack.  This is going to be a fun day for families to come together for a great opportunity to help children.

The date for packing is November 11th.  Time will be announced at a later date.

Christmas in November

For four months now, the Summit Kids’ Ministry along with the Child Development Center have been observing “Shoe box Christmas” by collecting different items for packing shoe boxes!  Join us in celebrating Christmas in November!

For the entire month of November we are asking that you donate: t-shirts, socks, scarves, gloves for the shoe boxes.

We are still in need of the October items: stuffed animals, small toys, soccer balls with a hand pump.
